Hell’s Heart

In a future where Earth is a ruin, humanity survives by scavenging the stars and harvesting a hallucinogenic substance called spermaceti from the brains of vast space Leviathans in Jupiter’s atmosphere.

The story follows a debt-ridden narrator known only as "I," who joins the crew of the hunting ship Pequod.Seeking both money and an escape from her past, she is quickly drawn into the dangerous orbit of Captain A, a charismatic but obsessively driven woman determined to hunt a legendary beast. As the ship plunges into the monster-haunted storms of Jupiter, the narrator struggles to stay grounded through her bond with Q, a mysterious woman from Old Earth who speaks in Latin and remembers a world long lost.

This sapphic, sci-fi retelling of Moby-Dick explores themes of hyper-capitalism, religious cults, and self-destruction. Amidst the cosmic horror and high-stakes hunting, "I" must decide if she is chasing a future or simply following a mad captain into the heart of a planetary storm.
