Sophie Gonzales writes young adult queer contemporary fiction filled with vibrant characters, sharp wit, and a deep emotional core. Her stories are known for capturing the nuances of identity and connection, resonating with readers through honesty and heart.

She is the author of The Law of Inertia, Only Mostly Devastated, and Perfect on Paper. Her collaborative novel with Cale Dietrich, If This Gets Out, was released in Fall 2021 by Wednesday Books / Macmillan and explores the complexities of fame, friendship, and falling in love.

Outside of writing, Sophie enjoys ice skating, performing in musical theatre, and playing the piano. She lives in Melbourne, Australia, where she also works as a psychologist, bringing a thoughtful and compassionate perspective to her work.
