Nat Cassidy

American Storyteller

Nat Cassidy is a storyteller who thrives in the shadows—whether he’s crafting chilling tales for the page, stage, or screen. Best known for his haunting novels Mary: An Awakening of Terror and Nestlings, Nat’s work has earned spots on “best of” lists from Esquire, Harper’s Bazaar, NPR, Chicago Review of Books, Paste, the New York Public Library, and more. Esquire even named him one of the writers shaping horror’s next golden age.

Beyond books, Nat has left his mark on the world of theater. His award-winning horror plays have been staged across New York City and throughout the U.S. He’s picked up NY Innovative Theatre Awards for both his one-man show about H.P. Lovecraft and his gripping play about Caligula. And when the Kennedy Center needed a libretto for a short opera about the end of the world—naturally—they called on Nat.

If he looks familiar, that’s probably because you’ve seen him on your TV screen, often as the “bad guy of the week” in shows like Law & Order: SVU, Blue Bloods, Bull, Quantico, and FBI. But that’s another story.

Nat lives in New York City with his wife, writing horror that lingers long after the last page—or scene—fades to black.
